Greeting from Shanghai.
I am very glad to introduce to you the Belt and Road Teacher Development Exchange Project (Oct. 27 - Nov. 7, 2026). This is a non-profit annual Project co-organized by the UNESCO Teacher Education Centre and the New Teacher Foundation, with support from Shanghai Normal University and its Research Institute for International and Comparative Education (RIICE), and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, China. A fundamental idea behind this project is establishing a platform for international exchange in education domain. In each project, the Organizer will select one or more topics with local and international concerns, collect keynote speeches and welcome registered audiences from the world for experience sharing and further discussion.
The theme of this year’s project is Teacher Lifelong Learning and Development in the Age of AI: Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers.
The co-organizers, the UNESCO Teacher Education Centre and the New Teacher Foundation, expect to welcome 40 participants from around the world. The Project will take place between October 27 and November 7, 2026. It will include thematic seminars presented by national and international officials and leading researchers, forums for participants and invited speakers, school visits, and cultural experiences.
Priority will be given to grassroots teachers and principals. Applicants recommended by alumni of previous sessions will receive priority in screening. Please provide the alumni information in the attached registration form and attach a short recommendation letter if available.
We expect your participation or recommendation of participant and keynote speaker for this Project very much. Please see attached for further information.
