Organized by the Ministry of Education, the CHINA-UK BASIC EDUCATION FORUM (the 4th High-Level Consultation Mechanism on China-UK People-to-People and Educational Exchanges) was co-hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the British Council, and TEC (UNESCO Teacher Education Centre). Liu Yandong, Former Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, attended the event.
The Global Conference on Equity and Excellence in Basic Education, organized by the World Bank and hosted by TEC, drew over 130 senior officials and experts from more than 30 developing countries and regional education bureaus of the World Bank worldwide. Based on the publication How Shanghai Does It released via the World Bank’s SABER initiative, the event effectively told the story of Shanghai’s education.
