SONG Jia, an Associate Professor, serves as the Party Branch Secretary of the Research  Institute for International and Comparative Education at Shanghai Normal University. She is the head of the Master's program in Comparative Education, and a visiting scholar at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University. She is a member of the Subcommittee on Primary, Secondary, and Kindergarten Teacher Training under the Expert Guidance Committee for Teacher Team Construction of the Ministry of Education. She also leads the China-Africa STEM Education Teacher Training Cooperation Program initiated by the Ministry of Education and serves as a council member of the 16th Board of Directors of the Comparative Education Branch of the Chinese Society of Education. She serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals, including CompareHigher EducationTertiary Education and ManagementStudies in Higher Education, and Journal of Marketing for Higher Education,etc.. Her research focuses on comparative higher education, higher education policy, international education policy, and global teacher policy. In recent years, she has host over more than 10 research projects, including the National Social Science Fund's Youth Project in Education, the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Youth Project, projects from the China Association of Higher Education, and commissioned projects from departments under the Ministry of Education. She has published monographs such as Accountability for Higher Education Teaching Quality and Teacher Knowledge and Practice and Strategic Research on Building a High-Quality Teacher Team from an International Perspective. Additionally, she has authored over 100 articles in domestic and international journals and newspapers, including Higher EducationHigher Education PolicyEducational Research, Comparative Education Review, and China Education Daily. She has also submitted multiple policy advisory reports that have been adopted by relevant government departments.
