His main research focuses on primary and secondary school mathematics teaching, mathematics teachers' professional development, and related fields. He has published or translated over 10 works, including Professional Education and Development of Mathematics Teachers. He has also published more than 80 papers in domestic and international journals such as Educational Studies in Mathematics.
He has organized and coordinated projects including the China-UK Mathematics Teachers Exchange Program, the Tanzania Mathematics Teachers Training Course, and the development of the Share Maths International Mathematics Teaching Resource Database. He has won Shanghai Municipal and national-level teaching achievement awards.
