The major direction is comparative education, vocational and technical education; Research areas include educational history, educational system, educational administration, school management and teacher education; The recent major research topics include: explore the educational system in the perspective of comparison between China and Japan, educational policy formation mechanism, educational culture, social background of school culture formation and industrial development, mployment mode and the relationship between vocational and technical education development.
In recent years, professor Hu has published 2 book , published more than 30 papers, presided over the Shanghai philosophy and social sciences project International Comparison of Higher Vocational Education, Shanghai education scientific planning project international metropolis Shanghai higher education internationalization supporting policy and service system researchin a comparative perspective, such as dozens of all kinds of subject, at all levels also decision consulting projects in Shanghai has been involved in the Ministry of Education.
