TEC Faculty and Students Participate in the 2024 Annual Academic Conference of the Education Theory Periodicals Branch of the Chinese Society of Education

On November 2, 2024, the 2024 Annual Academic Conference of the Education Theory Periodicals Branch of the Chinese Society of Education was successfully held at Fujian Normal University, focusing on the profound theme of Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the National Education Conference, Contributing Theoretical Strength to Building a Strong Education Country. The conference gathered over 200 representatives from nearly 60 national educational theory journals and experts and scholars, who jointly explored the theoretical supporting role of academic journals in advancing the construction of a strong education country in an all-round way. Yan Wenle, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Comparative Education; Ji Liyun, Editor of the journal; Li Tingzhou, Researcher at the International Teacher Education Centre of Shanghai Normal University; and three graduate students participated in this academic exchange event.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Zhang Caiyun, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Education Theory Periodicals Branch of the Chinese Society of Education and Editor-in-Chief of Educational Research. Wang Changping, President of Fujian Normal University; Li Zhengtao, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Education; and Gao Baoli, Chairman of the Education Theory Periodicals Branch of the Chinese Society of Education, delivered speeches successively. Professor Wu Daguang, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Higher Education; Professor Huang Bin, Dean of the School of Education at Nanjing University; and Professor Yang Qiguang, Director of the Department of Education at the School of Education of Fujian Normal University, delivered keynote reports as representative experts and scholars.

The conference featured three keynote speeches, a lively dialogue session among young and middle-aged scholars, and four group meetings for journals, with rich content and diverse forms. To further enhance the role of educational academic journals in serving the national agenda, improve academic quality, strengthen academic integrity, and promote the building of academic communities, the conference formulated the Consensus of the Educational Academic Journal Community.

At the closing ceremony, Professor Du Yanyan, Vice Chairman of the Branch and Editor-in-Chief of Education Science, delivered a summary as the Rotating Chair of the 2024 Annual Conference. He spoke highly of the highlights and achievements of the conference and formally announced that the next annual conference would be hosted by Journal of Comparative Education of Shanghai Normal University.
