On the morning of June 26, 2025, a group of educators from the Minnetonka Confucius Institute (USA) participating in the Chinese Bridge program visited the UNESCO Teacher Education Centre (hereafter referred to as the Centre). Song Jia, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Institute of International and Comparative Education, and Guo Jing, Deputy Director (on secondment) of UNESCO TEC, attended the symposium.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Song Jia first extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation on behalf of the Centre, and gave a detailed introduction to the delegation regarding the Centre’s establishment process, responsibilities and missions, functional positioning, cooperation networks, and flagship projects. Subsequently, Research Associate Guo Jing introduced the typical experiences of Shanghai’s teacher education to the guests, and exchanged views on topics of concern to the delegation, including China’s teacher development model, art education and teacher development, STEM teacher training and student development, and Chinese language teacher training.


In the end, Ms. Dang Lilian, Foreign Director of the Minnetonka Confucius Institute; Ms. Mansfield, Assistant Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Education; and Mr. Bittman, Superintendent of Edina Public Schools, expressed their hope to further strengthen high-quality cooperation between the Minnetonka School District and the Centre in the future, and jointly promote exchanges between basic education teachers from China and the United States.
