Researcher Li Tingzhou from the Centre Invited to Attend Indonesia's Annual Education Forum and Deliver a Keynote Speech

From May 6 to 7, 2024, Indonesia's Annual International Education Forum was held at the Teacher Development Center of Banten Province, with this year's theme being Future Education and Curriculum Reform. Ms. Nunuk Suryani, Director of the Teacher Division, Ministry of Education of Indonesia, along with over 200 educational officials, teacher educators, principals, and teachers from 34 provinces of Indonesia, attended the forum. Researcher Li Tingzhou, representing the UNESCO Teacher Education Centre, was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech.

Li Tingzhou delivered a keynote speech themed Curriculum Reform in China: Concept, Practice and Controversy, in which he discussed the theoretical presuppositions, process, practical models, and existing controversies of China's basic education curriculum reform, and engaged in interactive exchanges with the participants.

After the forum, Li Tingzhou visited Darul Muttaqien School in Banten Province, Indonesia, where he exchanged views with the principal, teachers, and students on topics such as school-running philosophies, teaching models, and teacher development in China and Indonesia.

In November 2023, the UNESCO Teacher Education Centre and Gadjah Mada University jointly established a Joint Research Centre in Indonesia. Relying on this institution, the Centre has carried out in-depth multi-faceted cooperation with Indonesian universities, government agencies, and teacher training institutions.
