On the afternoon of November 14, the China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Forum of Education Development themed "Jointly Promote Educational Development and Build a China-CELAC Community with a Shared Future" was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Xiong Sihao, Vice Minister of Education, attended and delivered a keynote speech. Education ministers from Brazil, Cuba and other countries, as well as presidents of numerous universities from China and Latin America, gave themed addresses.
During the achievement release session, the inauguration ceremony of the of the Global Academy of Teacher Education, Latin American Institute was held. Zhao Xin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Teacher Education of the Ministry of Education, Zhao Lei, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, and Li Ye, Vice President of Shanghai Normal University, jointly inaugurated the institute.
The Global Academy of Teacher Education, Latin AmericanInstitute is based at Shanghai Normal University. It will give full play to the university's strengths in teacher education and international exchanges, conduct exchanges and cooperation in teacher professional development with Latin American countries, and promote the common development of education on both sides.
