The opening ceremony of the 2nd Hong Kong STEAM Education Leaders Exchange Program 2026 was successfully held on the afternoon of March 30, 2026, at the UNESCO Teacher Education Centre (hereinafter referred to as "TEC").

Co-hosted by the Education Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (hereinafter referred to as "HKSAR Government Education Bureau") and TEC, the ceremony was attended by representatives from the HKSAR Government Education Bureau, representatives from TEC, and all participants of the program. Professor Wang Jie, Deputy Director of the International Teacher Education Centre at Shanghai Normal University, and Ms. Chuang Yung-ping, Senior Curriculum Development Officer of the HKSAR Government Education Bureau, delivered welcome speeches respectively.


Right after the opening ceremony, Professor Li Hui from the College of Life Sciences at Shanghai Normal University gave a presentation entitled A Study on Practical Cases of STEAM Education in Primary and Secondary Schools, which focused on the interdisciplinary integration of STEAM education in primary and secondary schools.


In addition to expert presentations, the program will feature a diverse array of activities including school visits, tours of unique venues and thematic seminars. It will further facilitate the mutual learning and experience sharing of STEAM education between Shanghai and Hong Kong, boost the coordinated improvement of teaching quality in both regions, and continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of education between the two sides.
