At the invitation of the OECD and the Morocco Higher Council for Education, Training, and Scientific Research, Professor Zhang Minxuan, UNESCO-TEC Director, visited Rabat, the capital of Morocco, from 22 to 27 March to attend the 15th meeting of the TALIS Governing Board (TGB). The meeting was held at the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco. Professor Xu Jinjie and Associate Professor Zhu Xiaohu accompanied Professor Zhang during the visit.
During themeeting, Governing Board members engaged in extensive consultations and in-depth discussionson 15agenda items.These included the implementation of the TALIS2024 survey across 55 countries and regions, subsequent data processing and analysis, the release of findings(notably the report on school leadership), and future research plans (including studies on teacher attrition).As the Shanghai project lead for TALIS, Professor Zhang Minxuan presented teacher development in Shanghai, as well as expectations and recommendations for the future implementation of the TALIS survey. During breaks, Professor Zhang also introducedthe developmentof TEC to delegates from participating countries and regions, and extended invitations to engage in TEC’s Belt and RoadTeacher Capacity BuildingProject and the African Educators Acceleration Program.
UNESCO-TEC hosted TGB 13 meeting in July 2024,which was the first time that the event came to China.
